I have been involved in the interior design industry for 29 years, primarily focused on commercial A/E work with a balance of residential, as well. I have been involved in ASID for almost as long! I grew up in a small town on northern Lake Huron, worked at my family's Drive-In Theatre business every summer, and rode my horse most everyday. I knew I wanted to be a designer when I was in 4th grade! I graduated from Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, and went on to Parsons School of Design, NY NY to get my second degree in Environmental Design.
During my 16 year stay in the "Big Apple" I worked at three firms and focused on healthcare, higher ed, corporate, residential, and retail work. I also had a freelance business doing set design for television and corporate. On to 2001...I realized it was time to get back to my Michigan roots. I landed in Grand Rapids and I have been employed in the commercial design industry with a focus in sustainable design. I look forward to being on the ASID MI Chapter board again - making our chapter stronger, purposeful, and exciting!
