I love designing anything. I compare my process of designing to an English class exercise with Venn diagrams.  The client presents a variety of needs, concerns and desires. I take their information and apply codes, function, color and style and create a solution that meets all the project requirements.  Professionally I have been described as accessible, creative and adaptable.  I am seen personally as colorful, observant and purposeful.

I have been in the interior design business for 29 years, creating educational, municipality hospitality and then residential and small commercial projects on my own since 2002. I gained experience from my time in architecture firms in the metro Detroit design community.  Projects include hospitality, the HGI hotel in Detroit and educational designs in multiple school districts in Wayne and Oakland counties. I have designed many residential projects around the country.

I earned my Associates in Art in Interior Design from University of Charleston Carleton Varney School of Art and Design in Charleston, West Virginia in 1992.  I moved to Michigan after graduation to pursue my Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Lawerence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan in 1998.  I completed my NCIDQ certification for professional interior designers in 2001.

I became an active member and officer in 1991 of ASID student chapter at University of Charleston and have been a professional member since 1999.  I became a member of the board in October 2021 as Professional Development Director.  The year 2023/24 started my position as President of the Michigan chapter.   My final position on the Michigan board will be as the Membership Director.
